Annex A (informative) Gravity and specific gravity
(1) In the present annex mean values of gravity or specific gravity of a number of building materials and bulk goods are given.
(2) If not otherwise specified, the gravity of structural members and specific gravity of building materials may be assumed to include the moisture content which is normal for the materials concerned and their location in the building structure.
(3) For some materials whose gravity is not very well defined, a range is given within which the gravity may generally be assumed. The extent of the range cannot be used to determine the coefficient of variation of the gravity.
(4) Where an angle of internal friction is given in the form of a range, the lowest value for the material concerned may be assumed to be within the range.
(5) It should be noted, however, that deviations from the values given may occur.
